چکیده
هدف: پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی رابطه هوش هیجانی با عملکرد تحصیلی دانش آموزان دوره ی متوسطه اول شهر خرم آباد انجام شده است. روش کار: روش این پژوهش، توصیفی از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری پژوهش حاضر شامل 3500 نفر از دانش آموزان دوره ی متوسطه اول شهر خرم آباد بود که از طریق روش نمونه گیری  خوشه ای و با توجه به فرمول حجم نمونه کوکران تعداد 346 نفر انتخاب شدند. ابزار جمع آوری اطلاعات در این تحقیق پرسشنامه های هوش هیجانی برادبری (2004) و عملکرد تحصیلی فام و تیلور (2004) بود. داده های بدست آمده با استفاده از ضریب همبستگی پیرسون مورد تحلیل قرار گرفتند. نتایج: یافته ها نشان داد که بین هوش هیجانی و عملکرد تحصیلی دانش آموزان رابطه معناداری وجود دارد. همچنین بین هر یک از ابعاد هوش هیجانی یعنی خودآگاهی، خودمدیریتی، آگاهی اجتماعی و مدیریت روابط و عملکرد تحصیلی دانش آموزان رابطه معناداری وجود دارد. نتیجه‌گیری: نتیجه گیری کلی پژوهش نشان داد که با تقویت هوش هیجانی می توان به بهبود عملکرد تحصیلی دانش آموزان در مدارس کمک فراوانی نمود.

Detailed Abstract

Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance of first secondary school students in Khorram Abad city.

Materials and methods: The method of this research was descriptive correlation type. The statistical population of the current study included 3500 students of the first secondary school in Khorram Abad city, who were selected through cluster sampling method and according to Cochran's sample size formula, 346 people were selected. The tools of data collection in this research were emotional intelligence questionnaires of Bradbury (2004) and academic performance of Pham and Taylor (2004). The obtained data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient.

Results and discussion: Examining and explaining the above hypothesis shows that paying attention to emotional intelligence and creating a collective and group feeling in students is essential and vital. It is essential that in schools and classrooms, the role of emotional intelligence as a set of abilities that allows students to persevere in the face of adversity, control their impulses, postpone success, empathize with others and hope One of the achievements of emotional intelligence is expressing emotions well and in an effective way. Students whose emotional skills are well developed are happy and efficient in their lives and have intellectual habits that make them productive and efficient people. It should also be noted that students who cannot control their emotional life are involved in internal conflicts and this problem reduces their ability to do focused work and think clearly. Paying attention to emotional intelligence in the classroom as well as the performance of students in the curriculum of schools requires a deep understanding and a comprehensive picture that can be used for proper planning. Emotional intelligence is the latest development in the field of understanding the relationship between reason and emotion, and it is referred to as the trigger of a great revolution in the field of mental health promotion. In fact, the concept of emotional intelligence is a multifactorial field of social skills and competences that affects a person's ability to recognize, understand and manage emotions, solve problems and adapt and effectively adapt a person to needs, pressures and Adapts to life's challenges. The historical roots of this concept can be traced back to the 19th century. What is emotional intelligence and what is its importance in life and work environment. Emotional intelligence or emotional quotient refers to the ability to recognize and control one's emotions. It can be said that people who do not perform well in their relationships in life and work environment have low emotional intelligence and mental intelligence alone cannot help in this field; Because emotional intelligence is more important than mental intelligence to achieve success in career and personal life. The success of people in business depends on the ability of people to recognize the emotions of others and react appropriately to them. Emotional intelligence is one of the useful and effective skills with the help of which we can create better conditions and opportunities in our lives and increase the level of satisfaction with life. With the help of emotional intelligence, we can manage our stress and create stronger relationships and achieve our academic goals; Therefore, emotional or emotional intelligence is needed in many areas of life, and people who have this intelligence can perform much better. Education is one of the most important aspects of development in any country. The academic performance of the students of any society, as the future human resources of that society and responsible for economic, social, etc. activities in the following decades, is of undeniable importance. Academic achievements are one of the very important factors that most organizations They consider work. Therefore, students should put in their maximum effort during their studies so that in addition to getting good grades, they can also improve their skills and at the same time prepare themselves for future job opportunities. But it should also be considered that the student's efforts alone will not be effective in his academic progress. There are many other factors that can lead to his academic progress or failure. In today's complex world, every country and nation with every viewpoint and belief and with every political and social system pays special attention to the issues of higher education. This shows the importance of education on the one hand and the necessity of human life on the other hand. Today, what is referred to as a proud human civilization and culture is the achievement and knowledge based on the educational system. To evaluate the effectiveness of each activity and program, they examine the final product and its output. In the education system, this is also done by examining the academic performance of students.

The results showed that the findings showed that there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance of students. Also, there is a significant relationship between each of the dimensions of emotional intelligence, i.e. self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management, and students' academic performance.

Conclusion: The general conclusion of the research showed that by strengthening emotional intelligence, it can greatly help to improve the academic performance of female students in schools.
